Well, Junior almost had it, he was so close! He led for quite a few laps, but when he went into pit the first time, he slid beyond his it box and had to back up, which took him longer. That put him a lap down, however he did get the free pass and was able to make that lap up. Towards the end, Dale Jr knew something was wrong with one of his tires and went into the pits, sliding again and having to back up again, however this time he stayed on the lead lap and amazingly went from 27th to 7 in under 5 laps. Way to go Junebug!! Brad was so close to making the race, but he fell (I think) two or three positions short.
Anyway, congrats to Junior's teammate Jeff Gordon!!! I am so happy he won the Gatorade Duel #1. To make it even more special for Jeff, (I had to post this picture, it was too cute to not post it) this was Ella Sophia's first time in Victory Lane with her Daddy.
